Board and Commission members provide input to the Mayor, City Council, City Manager and City Departments on a variety of issues affecting the City. All residents are welcome to participate in this important process. Good government is not just the responsibility of elected officials and city employees; residents also play an important role. The City, in turn, benefits from the knowledge, experience and expertise of citizens.
In accordance with state law, notice for all public meetings, along with agendas must be posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. The City of Somerton’s official posting board is located at the Somerton City Hall, 143 N State Avenue, Somerton, AZ 85350 in the front of the building. The posting board is viewable by the public 24 hours, 7 days a week.

How to apply
Board and commission members are appointed by the Mayor and Council at City Council Formal Meetings on a rolling basis.
Some boards require residency within the City of Somerton. Members are expected to attend all regularly scheduled and special meetings. Please contact the appropriate department for meeting schedules and locations.
